There’s something magical about staying near the parks during a Disney trip. If you’re hoping to do Disney World on points for families, the good news is—it’s totally possible. From the ease of getting to the parks to early entry by staying in Disney hotels, it can make your trip even more memorable. However, your bank account will remember the cost. This cost can really make it seem like a Disney trip is inaccessible. Good news! We are here to help. There are ways to use points for your Disney trip, and there are great hotels that are all bookable on points and near all the magic that won’t break the bank.

Walt Disney World
Hyatt Hotels Near Walt Disney World (Low Points, High Value)
These Hyatt hotels are some of the most popular picks for anyone doing Disney World on points for families—especially because resort fees are waived on award stays. Check out my guide to Hyatt to learn more about my favorite hotel brand.
- Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista – Category 2 (8,000 points/night)
A favorite for budget-minded families. You’ll get a hot breakfast, spacious rooms that fit up to five guests, and a location just minutes from the Disney gates. It’s within walking distance to several restaurants and offers free Wi-Fi and parking. - Hyatt Place Orlando/Convention Center – Category 3 (12,000 points/night)
Great for families planning to visit both Disney and Universal. Rooms come with a pull-out sofa, and there’s a heated outdoor pool. It’s located in the heart of International Drive, close to dining and attractions. - Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress – Category 4 (15,000 points/night)
This one feels like a resort. You’ll find beautiful grounds, a private lake with water activities, biking trails, and a lagoon-style pool with waterfalls. Rooms are modern and spacious, and you’re still only 10–15 minutes from Disney.
Marriott Bonvoy Hotels On Disney Property (Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve)
If you’re looking to do Disney World on points for families and want early park entry, these Marriott properties are one of the best hacks. This is a GREAT option, if you ask me. The on property Disney hotels are often quite expensive, especially in Disney World. The secret is these Marriott properties are also considered “on property,” but you can book them with points! These hotels give you all the early entry benefits you need to catch the most popular ride before rope drop, without the Disney price tag.
- Walt Disney World Dolphin – 40,000–60,000 Bonvoy points
This is a great family-friendly hotel that shares amenities with the Swan. You’ll get five pools, a sandy beach, and boat transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The rooms are large and modern, and you can walk to two parks. - Walt Disney World Swan – similar points range
Slightly smaller and more boutique than the Dolphin, but equally convenient. Rooms are sleek, and you’ll still get the Disney perks and access to shared pools, restaurants, and transportation. - Swan Reserve – slightly higher but more boutique and modern
This newer option offers a more premium feel and larger suites that are great for families. There’s a rooftop restaurant with views of fireworks and the same walkability and benefits as the other two properties.

DVC Rentals + Capital One Purchase Eraser Strategy
Renting DVC points can be one of the smartest ways to enjoy Disney World on points for families while staying at premium resorts like the Polynesian or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sites like David’s DVC Rentals make it easy. You can then pair it with a Capital One card to erase the travel charge using miles at 1 cent per mile.
Example: $400 stay = 40,000 Capital One miles.
DVC rentals let you stay at places like the Polynesian or Animal Kingdom Lodge, two of the most popular Disney properties, for much less. Many offer villa-style setups with kitchens and multiple bedrooms. Disney really does cater to the family vacation, so it can be worth it to stay in one of these properties.

Disneyland
Hyatt Hotels Near Disneyland
- Hyatt House Anaheim Resort/Convention Center – Category 4 (15,000 points)
This all-suite property is perfect for families, with rooms that feature separate living areas, full kitchens, and bunk beds in select suites. Free breakfast is included, and there’s a rooftop pool with a hot tub for relaxing after long park days. Walgreens and dining options are steps away, and Disneyland is about a 10-minute walk. - Hyatt Place Anaheim Resort/Convention Center – Category 4 (15,000 points)
Offers spacious rooms with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper, making it easy to fit a family of five. The free breakfast includes hot items like eggs and sausage, and there’s a pool on-site. CVS is right next door, and it’s also within a 10–15-minute walk to Disneyland’s entrance.
Both offer excellent value for points and convenience for park access. It might seem like an extra 10-minute walk after a full day in the parks is too much, but we’ve done it multiple times, and the amount it saves on parking is completely worth it. That free breakfast at both hotels is amazing for the budget as well.
Marriott Bonvoy Hotels Near Disneyland
- The Viv Hotel, Anaheim (Tribute Portfolio) – 35,000–50,000 points/night
This modern, trendy hotel is a great option for families who want more space and style. Rooms with bunk beds are available, and the rooftop pool has views of the Disneyland fireworks. There’s also a shuttle service and two on-site restaurants.
If you have a bunch of Marriott points, this is a great option. However, I would personally save mine for the Swan and Dolphin at Disney World, since that hotel gets you early entry.
Hilton and IHG Hotels Near Disneyland
This is a great example of why having a diverse portfolio of points can be so helpful. These hotels are great and very close to the resort. The beds are comfortable, many include breakfast, and have a variety of kid-friendly extras.
- Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim Resort – 50,000–60,000 Hilton points
Just a 10-minute walk from Disneyland. Rooms have mini-fridges and microwaves, and there’s an on-site restaurant and outdoor pool. Great for families who want a clean, updated space close to the action. - Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort – 40,000–60,000 Hilton points
Perfect for longer stays, this all-suite property includes kitchens, separate living areas, and free breakfast. There’s also a putting green, pool, and sports court. - Holiday Inn Express & Suites Anaheim Resort Area – 30,000–40,000 IHG points
Reliable and walkable, this property includes breakfast and a small pool. Rooms are family-sized, and the hotel is located just a few blocks from Disneyland’s entrance. - Candlewood Suites Anaheim – 25,000–35,000 IHG points
Great for families on longer stays who want kitchen access. Each suite includes a full kitchen, and the property offers free laundry facilities and easy access to nearby dining and grocery stores.
Many of these hotels are also bookable with Get Away Today. So if you don’t have quite enough points, you are still guaranteed a great deal.
Wyndham Hotels Near Disneyland
- Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground – 15,000–30,000 Wyndham points
Just a 5-minute walk to the park gates, this hotel has a water play area that younger kids LOVE. Rooms are clean and retro-themed, and many offer a direct view of the fireworks. They also recently completed a huge remodel, so everything still feels quite new. One of the best Wyndham redemptions for families.
Final Thoughts
If you want to do Disney World on points for families, flexibility is key. Whether you’re using hotel points or erasing a stay with miles, the savings can be huge. I know that Disney vacations can seem so far out of reach, but if you do it right, points can take you surprisingly far. I promise there is a way to do it cheaply, and the right cards can help get you there. Whether you’re a Hyatt loyalist or a Capital One cardholder looking to erase a DVC stay, there are options with a wide variety of points programs.
