All points values are estimates based on the time of this writing.

When we first started using points, I remember staring at our balance of 100,000 and wondering: how far can this actually take a family of six?

I had seen people use that many points for one first-class flight or two nights at a luxury hotel. But I knew there had to be a better way, especially if I wanted to stretch those points into real family vacations.

We’ve used 100k points for a full week of hotel stays, roundtrip flights for four, or two rooms at a resort. That’s the magic of smart redemptions.

If you’re just getting started with points, definitely check out my Beginner’s Guide to Points & Miles before diving in. It walks you through how to earn, use, and stack points.

Real Ways Real Families Use 100k Points

Today I’m sharing 30 real ways families can use 100,000 points: a mix of dreamy resorts, real-life flight redemptions, and some of the most practical travel hacks we use again and again.

Here’s a list of flexible travel credit cards I recommend that help you earn the kinds of points used in these redemptions.

Resorts Worth Saving Up For

You know I’m all about keeping costs down, but when it comes to anniversary trips or bucket list memory makers, I’ll happily splurge on a property that blows us away, but we do it a lot more often now that we know we can cover it with points. Booking for all of these hotels can be found here.
