My Take
This is our everyday family MVP. You earn 4X Membership Rewards® points at restaurants worldwide (on up to $50,000 in purchases per calendar year, then 1X) and 4X at U.S. supermarkets (on up to $25,000 in purchases per calendar year, then 1X), and it adds up fast. What’s better than your ever-increasing grocery bill turning into a family vacation?
I also love earning Membership Rewards® points because of how flexible they are. I can transfer them to airline partners for flights (especially helpful if you’re in a Delta hub and want SkyMiles as an option) or take advantage of Hilton or Marriott transfer bonuses when I’m topping off for a weekend getaway.
The monthly dining and Uber Cash benefits are easy wins for busy moms: think takeout on practice nights, or an Uber to the airport so you don’t have to arrange a pickup. - 4X at U.S. supermarkets: Earn 4X Membership Rewards® points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $25,000 in purchases per calendar year, then 1X.
- 3X on flights: Earn 3X Membership Rewards® points on flights booked directly with airlines or through American Express Travel®.
- 5X on prepaid hotels: Earn 5X Membership Rewards® points on prepaid hotels booked through American Express Travel. Earn 1X on other eligible purchases.
- Dining Credit: Up to $10 in statement credits each month (up to $120 per year) when you pay with your Card at Grubhub, Five Guys, The Cheesecake Factory, Buffalo Wild Wings and Wonder. Enrollment required.
- Up to $120 Uber Cash: Get up to $10 in Uber Cash each month (up to $120 per year) for U.S. Uber Eats orders and U.S. Uber rides. This is Uber Cash, not a statement credit, and your Gold Card needs to be added to the Uber app to receive it.
- Resy Credit: Up to $50 in statement credits semi-annually (up to $100 per year) for eligible purchases at U.S. Resy restaurants. Enrollment required.
- Dunkin’ Credit: Up to $7 in statement credits each month (up to $84 per year) at U.S. Dunkin’ locations. Enrollment required.
- Transferable points: Membership Rewards® points can be transferred to eligible airline and hotel partners.
- No foreign transaction fees: On international purchases.
How We Use It
Restaurants and groceries go on our Gold Card. Flights go on it too when I’m booking direct and want 3X. I pool our points for family travel, then transfer to a partner for a big redemption or wait for a good transfer bonus.
