I have a family of 6, and finding a family hotels that sleep 6 with points can be extremely difficult.
You search “family suite,” you get excited about the pictures, and then you read the fine print and it turns out that room sleeps four. Or worse, “family suite” just means two queen beds and the option to pay extra for a roll-away bed that you stub your toe on in the morning.
So I did the work for you. I went through 20 of our favorite big-trip destinations, Costa Rica to Sydney and everywhere in between, and I checked every single room. The resorts spread through all the different brands, and you can compare those HERE.
If you need points to book these amazing resorts, check out THIS LIST.
Sun, Surf, & Tropical

Costa Rica: Marriott Vacation Club at Los Sueños resort sits right where the rainforest meets the Pacific. Picture waking up to howler monkeys in the trees, then spending your morning zip-lining through the canopy or out on a sportfishing boat chasing marlin. The marina village nearby has restaurants and shops, and Jaco Beach is a quick trip away for surf lessons or just parking everyone in the sand for the afternoon. The 2-bedroom villas sleep up to 8, with a full kitchen and a king bed in the master plus two queens in the second bedroom. Book with Marriott Bonvoy points.
The Andaz Costa Rica, over on the Papagayo Peninsula, is worth mentioning if you’re set on this coast. Its 2-bedroom villa fits 6 and feels like something out of a magazine, all open-air design and jungle views straight down to the water. Just know going in that this specific villa is cash only, since the property has excluded it from World of Hyatt points redemption.

Bali, Indonesia: Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Gardens is tucked into the resort enclave of Nusa Dua, where the beaches are super calm. Spend your mornings at the beach club, let the kids splash around the lazy river, and in the afternoons head out to explore rice terraces, temple visits, or a sunset dinner at Uluwatu with cliffs dropping straight into the ocean. It’s the kind of place where everyone in the family finds their own version of a good day. The 2-bedroom unit sleeps 6, with a king bed, two twins, and a sofa bed in the living room. Marriott Bonvoy points are what you will need for this property.
Backup: Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Terrace, a sister Marriott Vacation Club property just down the road, with the same style of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments if the Gardens is booked on your dates.

Algarve, Portugal: Domes Lake Algarve, Autograph Collection sits inland from the coast with its own private lake, which sounds like a small detail until you’re there watching the sun go down over the water instead of fighting beach crowds. This part of Portugal is famous for a reason: golden cliffs, hidden coves, calm water that’s easy on younger swimmers, and towns like Lagos and Albufeira just a short drive away for cobblestone streets and fresh seafood. Book the Two-Bedroom Residence specifically, which sleeps 6 and comes with two bathrooms and a separate dining area, since several of the smaller suites here only sleep 3 or 4. Here are some great cards you can use to book this property.
Backup: Tivoli Alvor All Inclusive Resort has a room confirmed “for a total of six guests,” right on the water in Alvor. Just know it runs on its own Minor Hotels/NH Discovery loyalty program rather than Marriott, Hilton, or one of the bigger transferable ones.

Southern Spain (Andalucia): Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort puts you right on the Costa del Sol, where the mornings are for beach time and the evenings are for wandering Marbella’s old town, all whitewashed buildings and orange trees and tapas bars that spill out onto the plazas. It’s an easy home base for day trips too, whether that’s exploring Moorish castles inland or just driving along the coast for lunch somewhere new. The 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment sleeps 6, so nobody’s stuck negotiating who gets the pull-out couch. Marriott Bonvoy does great with points redemptions internationally.
Backup: Marriott’s Playa Andaluza, a sister Marriott Vacation Club property a bit further down the coast in Estepona, also confirmed with a 2-bedroom apartment that sleeps 6, in case Marbella Beach Resort is full on your dates.

Belize: Mahogany Bay Resort, Curio Collection sits on Ambergris Caye, right along the second largest barrier reef in the world, which means world-class snorkeling and diving is basically a boat ride from your front door. Beyond the reef, there’s a whole village-like resort to explore, golf carts instead of cars, a beach club a short boat trip away, and enough low-key island energy that everyone actually unwinds. Ask specifically for the 3-bedroom Family Cottage, which has 2 king beds plus twin bunk beds, plenty of room for 6. Hilton Honors are the points you will need. Read all about the Hilton program HERE.
Backup: Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection, also on Ambergris Caye, has a 2-bedroom villa one guest described as “perfect for our family of five,” with a second option in the Reef House suites if you need more flexibility. Book this with Marriott points if you don’t have Hilton points.

Maui, Hawaii: Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas puts you close to the action in Kaanapali, one of Maui’s prettiest stretches of coastline, with sunset views over the water and easy access to snorkeling right off the beach. Whale watching season alone is worth the trip if you time it right, and when everyone needs a break from the sand, the drive out along the Road to Hana or a morning at Haleakala watching the clouds roll in below you rounds out the trip perfectly. The 2-bedroom suites come with full kitchens, standard for the brand, so cooking a quick breakfast before a big beach day is easy. Use Hilton Honors.
If you’d rather use World of Hyatt points, Hyatt Residence Club Maui, Ka’anapali Beach is worth a look too, sitting right next door to the Hyatt Regency Maui and sharing access to its pools and beachfront grounds. It’s a quieter, more residential feel than the big resort next door, with real 2-bedroom suites confirmed to sleep 6, and even 3-bedroom suites for bigger groups. One thing to flag if you’re chasing the famous Hyatt Regency Maui itself: most of its rooms and suites officially cap at 4 people. If points are the priority, the Residence Club next door is the more reliable bet for a family of 6. Here’s how to use those Hyatt points.

Cancun and Riviera Maya, Mexico: Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya sits along a quiet stretch of Riviera Maya, close enough to Tulum’s ruins and Cancun’s energy to do both, but tucked away enough that it still feels like a private escape. There’s a natural lagoon running through the property, a kids’ club, and turquoise water calm enough for everyone from toddlers to teenagers to enjoy. The oceanfront 2-Bedroom Presidential Suite sleeps 6, so the whole family gets that view together instead of split between rooms. Waldorf Astoria is a Hilton brand, so this books with Hilton Honors.
Backup: Hyatt Ziva Cancun is also right on the hotel zone strip with easy access to Cancun’s beaches and nightlife if that’s more your family’s speed. Most standard rooms sleep four, but their suites feature two private bedrooms, a hot tub on the private balcony, a separate living area, and access to the Club Level lounge. World of Hyatt are the points you will need.

Phuket, Thailand: Marriott’s Phuket Beach Club sits right on Karon Beach, one of the island’s longest and quietest stretches of sand. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a lazy morning at the pool, head into Phuket Town in the afternoon for street food and old Sino-Portuguese architecture, and still make it back in time for a sunset walk on the beach. The 2-bedroom apartment is sleeps 6. Use Marriott Bonvoy points.
Backup: Marriott’s Mai Khao Resort, a sister Marriott Vacation Club property near the island’s quieter north end, also confirmed with a 2-bedroom apartment for up to 6 guests, and close to Phuket’s international airport if that makes travel days easier.
Epic Landscapes & National Parks

Switzerland (Interlaken): Hotel Royal St. Georges Interlaken, MGallery Collection puts you right between two lakes in a town that exists as the gateway to some of the best alpine scenery in the world. Wake up to views of the Jungfrau, spend the day on a cable car up into the mountains, and let the kids try an alpine slide or a scenic train ride through valleys that look almost too perfect to be real. It’s postcard Switzerland, minus the crowds you’d hit in a bigger city. The family apartment sleeps 6, with a kitchen and 2 bunk beds. Fair warning from guest reviews: it’s compact at 420 square feet, so pack light. Books with ALL, the Accor loyalty program, since MGallery is an Accor brand.
This one’s worth booking early if your dates are flexible.

Yellowstone National Park: Yellowstone is the kind of place that reminds you why national parks exist in the first place: geysers going off on a schedule, bison wandering around, hot springs in colors that look photoshopped. And I have to say, finding hotels bookable on points is HARD in these tiny national park entrance towns. I was super proud to find the Starlite Yellowstone, Tapestry Collection by Hilton for you! It puts you right in downtown West Yellowstone, about a mile from the park’s West Entrance, walking distance to local shops, restaurants, and the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Several room types here sleep 6, including a Junior Suite with a king bed and a twin bunk bed, and a room with 2 queen beds plus a double sofa bed.
If Starlite is sold out, Home2 Suites by Hilton Livingston Yellowstone is about a 59-minute drive from the North Entrance and offers the brand’s standard 2-bedroom suites, also Hilton Honors.

Banff, Canada: Fairmont Banff Springs looks like a castle because it basically is one, sitting in the middle of Banff National Park with the Rockies on every side. The building itself is part of the vacation, all turrets and stone hallways, and then you step outside into some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on the continent, with glacier-fed lakes, gondola rides, and hiking trails for every skill level. Just be sure to book the Gatehouse Family Suite specifically, with a king bed plus 4 built-in twin bunk beds, confirmed to sleep 6. The regular family room types here only sleep 4, so the room name alone isn’t enough to go on. Fairmont is an Accor brand, so this books with Accor Live Limitless points.

Grand Canyon National Park: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Grand Canyon puts you just a 15-minute drive from the rim, with standard family suites confirmed to sleep 6 (two queen beds plus a separate living area with a sleeper sofa). It also comes with a free hot breakfast buffet. You would be surprised just how comfortable a Holiday Inn can be for exploring the national parks. Award nights typically run 30,000 to 45,000 IHG points, depending on the season. Check out some great cards for this HERE.
Immersive Culture & Dynamic Cities

Paris, France (Disneyland Paris): Marriott’s Village d’Ile-de-France is right on the doorstep of Disneyland Paris, which means early mornings at the parks and easy afternoon breaks back at the villa instead of a long trek back to your hotel. It’s set up like a real village too, with its own pools, a lake, bike rentals, and enough green space that it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a parking lot next to a theme park. And Paris itself is still less than an hour away by train, so you can easily tack on a day for the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. The 2-bedroom townhouses sleep 6 with Marriott points.

Tokyo, Japan: Hilton Tokyo Bay, right by Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, means you can walk to the parks in the morning and be back at the pool by afternoon. The hotel itself leans into the magic too, with character breakfasts and a beautiful lobby. Beyond the parks, Tokyo’s easy train system puts the whole city within reach if you want a day exploring Shibuya or trying your way through a few ramen shops. The Happy Magic Suite has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 6 beds. If you want to read how we took our family of six to Japan on points, click HERE.

London, England: Hyatt House London Stratford puts you right by the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Westfield Stratford shopping centre, with a direct tube line into central London in about 15-20 minutes. This gives you easy access to Big Ben, the Tower of London, and the West End without paying central London prices for the room. The 2-bedroom apartment combines a one-bedroom suite with a sofa bed connected to a king studio, sold as a single reservation, and genuinely sleeps 5 to 6.
If you need a backup, the Hilton London Metropole, closer to Hyde Park and Paddington, has an actual “Two Bedroom Family Suite” confirmed to sleep 6, if you’d rather be based more centrally.

Mallorca, Spain: Marriott’s Club Son Antem on Mallorca sits inland on Mallorca, surrounded by golf courses and quiet countryside, which makes it a nice change of pace if you want some breathing room before or after the beach. Palma is just 20 minutes away, with its cathedral towering over the harbor, a hilltop castle to explore, and enough winding old-town streets and tapas spots to fill a full day trip. The 2-bedroom townhouse sleeps 6.
Backup: Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca, also on Mallorca and closer to the coast, has a room confirmed to sleep 6. Iberostar recently joined IHG One Rewards, so this one books with IHG points.

Orlando, Florida: Orlando might have more ways to fill a family vacation than anywhere else on this list, so you’ve got four good options here, spanning three programs. Staybridge Suites Orlando at SeaWorld puts you close to SeaWorld’s rides and Discovery Cove, with 2-bedroom suites and a free hot breakfast to fuel up before a long park day (IHG One Rewards). Hilton Grand Vacations Club SeaWorld Orlando is right nearby too, with condo-style 2-bedroom villas and full kitchens if you want to cook a few meals in between park days (Hilton Honors).
If Disney and Universal are both on the wish list, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a smart middle ground, with a VIP Suite sleeps 6 and shuttle service to both parks, plus its own lagoon pool and golf course for downtime. And the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve complex puts you a short walk or boat ride from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, with a 2-bedroom suite one guest specifically described as “practical for family of 6.” See how we stayed there HERE.

Washington, D.C.: Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown puts you right in one of the city’s prettiest neighborhoods, with cobblestone streets, the C&O Canal towpath for an easy family walk, and the Georgetown waterfront just steps away. It’s also an easy ride to the National Mall, where most of the Smithsonian museums are free. The Two-Room Suite has 2 queen beds plus a sofa bedand sleeps 6, plus the free hot breakfast every Embassy Suites is known for.
Backup: Homewood Suites by Hilton DC Capitol-Navy Yard, closer to the Nationals ballpark and the Navy Yard riverfront, has 1- and 2-bedroom suites in the same style. Also Hilton Honors, so it’s a good fallback if Georgetown is sold out.

Zante (Zakynthos), Greece: Domes Aulūs Zante, Autograph Collection sits right on the beach on Zakynthos, one of the most strikingly beautiful of the Greek islands, famous for the turquoise water at Navagio (better known as Shipwreck Beach) and the loggerhead sea turtles that nest along the coast. Between beach days, there’s a whole island of blue caves, cliffside villages, and boat trips out to hidden coves to fill the itinerary. Several room categories here sleep 6, including two-bedroom layouts with a double bed in each room plus a sofa bed. Marriott Bonvoy are the points you will need.

Sydney, Australia: The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney sits right at The Rocks, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge basically in your backyard and the Opera House an easy walk along the water. It’s the kind of location where you can do the big tourist moments, a harbor ferry ride, Taronga Zoo, the bridge climb if anyone in the family is feeling brave, and still be back at the suite in time for dinner cooked in your own kitchen instead of another restaurant bill. The penthouse suites are confirmed to sleep up to 6, with a full kitchen and laundry. Use ALL, the Accor loyalty program.
A Few Tips Before You Book
Always double check the specific room type before booking, not just the hotel name. The difference between a suite that sleeps 4 and one that sleeps 6 often comes down to one specific room category, and hotels don’t always make that obvious on the booking page. When in doubt, call the hotel directly and ask for the exact bed configuration in the room you’re looking at.
Award pricing at most of these chains moves around based on demand, so the same room can cost a different number of points depending on your travel dates. Check the points price a few weeks out and compare it to paying cash, since a slower week can make the points rate a much better deal.
Several of these programs also let you combine points with cash, or combine points from more than one family member’s account, if you’re a little short for a big family stay.
