Earning 150k might seem like a long shot, but did you know one welcome bonus can get you there? One welcome bonus at this level is enough to fly two people to Japan in business class, cover a full week at an all-inclusive where you never open your wallet, pay for your Disney hotel, or split into three separate trips across the year. Most people don’t realize how far this balance actually goes.
Capital One miles transfer to more than a dozen airline partners at a 1:1 ratio and can also erase travel purchases directly, which means there is almost no trip this balance can’t touch in some way. If you need help figuring out which cards get you to 150k, start HERE. New to all of this? My Beginner’s Guide to Points and Miles is the right place to start.
Hotels
Capital One transfers to Wyndham at 1:1 and Accor at 2:1. Most people skip right past Wyndham, which is a mistake.
1. Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek: Ten Nights on Disney Property

Image from Wyndham
While not on Disney property, Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek sits inside Walt Disney World, completely surrounded by Disney on all sides. At 15,000 points per night, 150,000 miles gets your family ten nights in a multi-bedroom condo unit with a full kitchen and resort pools. Use the miles for the hotel and put the money you saved toward park tickets. This is one of the smartest Disney strategies going and very few people know about it.
2. Registry Collection All-Inclusive in Mexico: Five Nights

Image from Wyndham Grand Cancun
Wyndham’s Registry Collection properties are full all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean. At 30,000 points per night, 150,000 miles covers five nights where every meal, drink, kids activity, and evening show is already included in the rate. The savings on food and drinks alone for a family of four can easily run $200 to $400 per day. This is one of the highest real-world value redemptions in the entire program.
3. Registry Collection All-Inclusive in the Dominican Republic: Five Nights

Image from Wyndham Grand Palladium Punta Cana
Same math as Mexico, but the Dominican Republic options include properties in Punta Cana with large pools, beachfront access, and multiple dining options. At 30,000 points per night, 150,000 miles covers five nights of an all-in vacation. Flying Blue or Avianca can handle the flights.
4. Club Wyndham Smoky Mountains: A Full Week in the Mountains

Image from Club Wyndham Smoky Mountains
Club Wyndham has condo-style resort properties throughout the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. At 15,000 points per night, 150,000 miles gets your family ten nights in a multi-bedroom unit with a full kitchen. This works especially well as a driving trip for families in the Southeast. Cheaper than renting a cabin and significantly more comfortable than a standard hotel room.
5. Club Wyndham Myrtle Beach: Ten Nights at the Beach

Image from Club Wyndham Myrtle Beach
Club Wyndham properties in Myrtle Beach run from 15,000 points per night. Full condo units, oceanfront locations, and close to everything Myrtle Beach has going on. At 150,000 miles this is a ten-night beach trip for a family. It is a legitimate week at the beach without paying for it.
6. Wyndham Grand Rio Mar: Puerto Rico Beach Resort

Image from Wyndham
Wyndham Grand Rio Mar is a full beach resort on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico with a golf course, multiple pools, and direct beach access. At the lower end of the points range this is an excellent use of miles. Puerto Rico is a US territory so no passports are needed, and nonstop flights from the East Coast are plentiful. Transfer miles to Wyndham for the hotel and use Flying Blue or Avios for the flight.
7. Accor Fairmont or Sofitel: Two to Three Nights at a Top-Tier Property

Image from Fairmont Mayakoba
The 2:1 transfer ratio means your 150,000 miles becomes 75,000 Accor points. While not the best redemption value, if this is where you want to stay it covers two to three nights at a Fairmont or Sofitel property. It works best when you have already identified a specific hotel and the math makes sense for that trip. Fairmont properties in particular are worth looking at for Canadian Rockies trips, San Francisco, or Hawaii.
8. Disney Combo: Hotel on Property Plus Park Tickets
Transfer 90,000 miles to Wyndham for six nights at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek on Disney property. Use the remaining 60,000 miles through the Venture X purchase eraser toward park tickets, which run about $109 to $189 per person per day. At 1 cent per mile, 60,000 miles erases $600 in ticket purchases. The hotel and a significant portion of park tickets, all from one welcome bonus.
9. Full Family Caribbean Trip Combo: Flights and All-Inclusive
Transfer 120,000 miles to Avianca LifeMiles for four roundtrip economy tickets to the Dominican Republic at roughly 30,000 miles per person. Transfer the remaining 30,000 miles to Wyndham for one night at a Registry Collection property. The flights are covered and you have a head start on the hotel. Add a few more nights directly on points if your balance allows or pay cash for the additional nights knowing the flights are already free.
10. Two Trips Instead of One
Split 150,000 miles into two 75,000-mile redemptions across the year. Use 75,000 for a couple’s getaway to Europe in economy through Flying Blue and 75,000 for a family trip to the Caribbean through Avianca. Two trips, two sets of memories, one welcome bonus. For families where a ten-day international trip is logistically impossible right now, this is often the more realistic and honestly more enjoyable answer.
Flights
This is where Capital One miles really do the work. Several of these partners have pricing sweet spots that competing programs simply can’t match.
11. JAL First Class to Tokyo, One Way
Transfer 80,000 Capital One miles to British Airways Avios and book a one-way Japan Airlines first class seat from the US to Tokyo. I’ve even had family members book them at 55k and 72k points! JAL first class is genuinely one of the most celebrated cabin experiences in the world. Private suite, exceptional Japanese hospitality, and food that makes you forget you are on a plane. You still have 70,000 miles left for the return flight or a hotel. This is the redemption that makes people understand why points matter.
12. Qantas Frequent Flyer: American Airlines Flights to Hawaii or Domestically
Capital One transfers to Qantas at 1:1. Qantas prices American Airlines economy flights to Hawaii at 22,000 miles one way per person, and domestic US flights start even lower. A family of four flies one way to Hawaii for 88,000 miles, leaving 62,000 for the hotel or the return. A different path to Hawaii than the KrisFlyer option and worth knowing as a backup when availability is tight on one program but open on the other.
13. Turkish Airlines Business Class to Europe for Two, One Way
Turkish Airlines prices business class to Europe at 45,000 miles per person one way. Two people fly one way to Paris, Rome, or Istanbul for exactly 90,000 miles, leaving 60,000 miles for hotels or the return. Turkish Airlines business class consistently ranks among the best in the world, and most people have never thought to look here.
14. Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles: Economy to Hawaii for the Family
Turkish Airlines used to have one of the most celebrated sweet spots in points travel for Hawaii, and while those rates increased significantly in late 2025, the program is still worth knowing. Economy seats on United-operated flights (booked through Turkish Airlines) to Hawaii now start around 25,000 miles each way per person, meaning a family of four flies one way for around 100,000 miles. It is competitive with most other programs at similar rates. One thing worth knowing before you book: you need Saver award availability specifically, so not every seat showing on United.com will be bookable through Turkish miles. Search United.com for availability first, then book through your Turkish Miles and Smiles account.
15. Aeroplan Business Class to Europe, Roundtrip for Two
Air Canada Aeroplan prices business class to Europe at 60,000 miles per person one way. Two people fly roundtrip in full lie-flat seats for exactly 120,000 miles. Aeroplan books on United, Lufthansa, and Swiss in addition to Air Canada, so you have real flexibility on routes and dates. The remaining 30,000 miles is a Wyndham hotel stay or a domestic flight.
16. Lufthansa Business Class to Europe via Avianca LifeMiles
Avianca LifeMiles prices Lufthansa business class to Europe at around 63,000 miles one way. One person flies over in a full lie-flat seat for 63,000 miles, leaving 87,000 for the return or a hotel. Avianca is underused and the pricing is genuinely excellent.
17. Family of Four Roundtrip to the Caribbean in Economy
Transfer 120,000 miles to Avianca LifeMiles and book four roundtrip economy tickets to the Caribbean or Central America for around 30,000 miles per person. The whole family flies for 120,000 miles and you still have 30,000 left. Put those toward a Wyndham property for the first few nights, and the math on this trip starts looking remarkable.
18. Emirates First Class to Dubai
Emirates first class one way to Dubai runs between 85,000 and 110,000 miles. The cabin has a private suite with a closing door, an onboard bar, and a shower. It is the most lavish commercial flight experience that exists and 150,000 miles gets one person there with points to spare. If it’s on the bucket list, this is the way to do it.
19. Cathay Pacific Business Class to Asia for Two, One Way
Cathay Pacific Asia Miles prices business class to Hong Kong or Tokyo at around 70,000 miles one way. At 150,000 miles, two people each fly one way to Asia in business class. Cathay’s product is exceptional and availability is often better than people expect.
20. Flying Blue Promo Awards: Paris Roundtrip for Two
Air France and KLM run monthly promotions called Promo Awards where transatlantic economy flights drop to 25,000 to 40,000 miles roundtrip. A couple can fly roundtrip to Paris for as little as 50,000 miles total during a promo period. That leaves 100,000 miles for a hotel, another trip, or both. Sign up for Flying Blue emails so you know when the promos drop.
21. Singapore KrisFlyer: Family of Four One Way to Hawaii
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer prices economy to Hawaii on United-operated flights at 20,500 miles per person one way. A family of four flies one way for 82,000 miles. Book a paid return or a separate award for the way home and you still have miles left. One of the cleanest Hawaii strategies for families right now.
22. British Airways Avios Short Haul: NYC to Toronto
Avios prices short-haul flights based on distance, and routes under 650 miles start at 7,500 points one way. New York to Toronto is one of them. A family of four flies one way for 30,000 Avios and you have 120,000 miles left for the rest of the trip. Worth knowing about for quick regional trips where cash prices are surprisingly high.
23. British Airways Avios Short Haul: Miami to Nassau
Same short-haul pricing applies here. Miami to Nassau in the Bahamas starts at 7,500 Avios one way per person. A family of four flies over for 30,000 Avios. Combine that with a few nights at a Wyndham property in the Bahamas and the whole trip is covered on points.
24. Japan Trip Combo: Business Class for Two Plus Hotels
Transfer 117,000 miles to British Airways Avios for two JAL business class seats to Tokyo one way. Use the remaining 33,000 miles as Wyndham points for a few nights at a Wyndham property in Japan, or erase a hotel charge directly. The flight alone for this trip in economy would run $1,500 to $2,000 per person cash. In business class it would be considerably more.
25. Aeroplan to Europe Plus a Night in Paris
Transfer 120,000 miles to Aeroplan for two roundtrip business class seats to Paris. Use the remaining 30,000 miles through the Venture X purchase eraser to erase $300 in Paris hotel charges. At 1 cent per mile, that covers a night at a solid mid-range Paris hotel. The flights are in lie-flat seats and you land with hotel money already covered.
Purchase Eraser
With the Venture X, Capital One miles erase any travel purchase at 1 cent per mile. At 150,000 miles that is up to $1,500 in travel charges wiped out. Is it the best redemption out there? No. BUT, sometimes it’s the only way to save on a vacation you really want to take and wouldn’t otherwise. In that case, it’s totally worth it.
26. Disney Moderate Resort for a Week
Book a week at a Disney moderate resort like Disney’s Port Orleans or Coronado Springs directly through Disney. You keep all the on-property perks, early park entry, and Disney transportation because you booked directly. Then erase the charge with your Capital One miles at 1 cent per mile. A week at a moderate Disney resort in peak season can run $2,000 to $3,000. At 150,000 miles, you are erasing up to $1,500 of that, which covers a significant portion or in some cases the entire stay depending on the season.
27. Universal On-Property Hotel for Early Park Access
Universal’s on-property hotels come with early access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which is a genuinely significant perk if you have fans in the house. Some even have fast passes included, which is a huge savings! Book directly through Universal to keep that benefit, then erase the hotel charge with your miles at 1 cent per mile. A few nights at Loews Sapphire Falls or the Royal Pacific runs $250 to $400 per night. At 150,000 miles you have $1,500 to work with, which covers three to five nights comfortably.
28. Caribbean Cruise for the Family
Book a cruise through the cruise line directly or through Capital One Travel. It codes as travel, which means you can erase it at 1 cent per mile. At 150,000 miles you are covering up to $1,500 of the fare. For a family sailing out of Miami or Port Canaveral, that is a meaningful chunk of the total cost.
29. A Boutique Hotel That Is Not in Any Program
Some of the best hotels in the world do not participate in any loyalty program: Small boutique properties, independent inns, locally owned resorts, even AirBnB! With other programs, you simply cannot use points at these types of properties. With Capital One’s purchase eraser, you book wherever you want and erase up to $1,500 of the charge after the fact with your 150k welcome offer.
30. Save on All Things Disney
It is notoriously hard to get a discount on anything related to Disney. With Capital One points, that all changes. Capital one is one of the best ways to save on all things Disney, and you can learn more about that HERE.
