All points values are estimates based on the time of this writing.

I have a family of 6, and finding family hotels that sleep 6 with points can be pretty difficult.

You search “family suite,” you get excited about the pictures, and then you read the fine print and it turns out that room sleeps four. Or worse, “family suite” just means two queen beds and the option to pay extra for a roll-away bed that you stub your toe on in the morning.

So, I did the work for you. I picked 20 amazing family destinations, from Costa Rica to Sydney, and ran real points searches for 2 adults and 4 kids at every hotel. Every hotel in the main list has a room that fits all six people that you can book with points alone. No second room, and no cash upgrade.

A few dream hotels didn’t make the cut because the only room that fits 6 is cash-only or needs a paid upgrade. I put those in a bonus section at the end so you know exactly what you’re getting into. They are truly great hotels though, and you could use Capital One points to “erase” the purchase.

Want to compare the hotel programs first? Here’s my guide to Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and more. Short on points? Grab my free Transfer Partner Cheat Sheet to see which credit card points move to which hotel program, and check out the hotel credit cards I recommend.

*About These Points Prices

  • They’re estimates from my own test searches for 2 adults and 4 kids in fall 2026, not a guarantee. Hilton and Marriott use dynamic pricing, so your dates could cost more or less. For example, Yellowstone was less than half the points in October as in July.
  • The room that fits 6 is usually a suite or villa, which costs more points than a standard room. Also, availability can sell out, so always search your exact dates for 6 guests.
  • Accor (Fairmont, MGallery, and The Sebel) points work like cash: 2,000 points takes €40 off, so the cost depends on the room rate.
  • Taxes and fees can still apply. Hilton waives resort fees on points stays, but Marriott and Accor stays may still charge them.

Sun, Surf, & Tropical

Costa Rica: Marriott Vacation Club at Los Sueños

Aerial view of Marriott Vacation Club at Los Sueños and its marina in Costa Rica

Marriott Vacation Club at Los Sueños sits right where the rainforest meets the Pacific. Picture waking up to howler monkeys in the trees, then spending your morning zip-lining through the canopy or out on a sportfishing boat chasing marlin. The marina village has restaurants and shops. Also, Jaco Beach is a quick trip away for surf lessons or a lazy afternoon in the sand.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom villa has a full kitchen, a king bed in the primary bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom, and sofa beds in the living room.

Points: Marriott Bonvoy. My test search came in around 72,000 points per night.

Bali, Indonesia: Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Gardens

Pool at Marriott's Bali Nusa Dua Gardens in Bali

Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Gardens is tucked into the resort enclave of Nusa Dua, where the beaches are super calm. Spend your mornings at the pool and beach. Then head out in the afternoon for rice terraces, temples, or a sunset dinner on the Uluwatu cliffs. It’s the kind of place where everyone in the family finds their own version of a good day.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom apartment has a king bed, two twins, and a sofa bed in the living room.

Points: Marriott Bonvoy. This was one of the best values on the list at roughly 39,000 to 46,000 points per night.

Backup: Marriott’s Bali Nusa Dua Terrace, its sister resort just down the road. The 2-bedroom apartment (king, two queens, and a sofa bed) came in around 37,000 to 44,000 points per night.

Phuket, Thailand: Marriott’s Mai Khao Beach – Phuket

Lagoon-style pool at dusk at a Marriott Vacation Club resort on Mai Khao Beach, Phuket

Marriott’s Mai Khao Beach – Phuket sits on Mai Khao Beach on the island’s quiet north end. Also, it’s only about 15 minutes from the airport, which makes travel days easier. Spend a lazy morning at the pool, then head into Phuket Town for street food and Sino-Portuguese architecture. After that, catch a sunset walk on the beach.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom apartment has a king bed, two doubles, and a sofa bed.

Points: Marriott Bonvoy. About 52,000 to 65,000 points per night in my search.

Backup: its next-door sister, Marriott’s Phuket Beach Club, has similar 2-bedroom apartments, but every time I searched, they were cash only.

Belize: Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection

Beach and pier at Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club on Ambergris Caye, Belize

Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection sits on Ambergris Caye, along the world’s second-largest barrier reef. As a result, world-class snorkeling and diving is basically a boat ride from your front door. Beyond the reef, there’s a whole village-like resort to explore, with golf carts instead of cars. In addition, there’s a beach club a short boat ride away and enough low-key island energy that everyone unwinds.

The room for 6: Book the 3-Bedroom Family Cottage with 2 king beds plus twin bunk beds.

Points: Hilton Honors. Hilton prices this as a premium room reward, so expect around 238,000 points per night.

Backup: Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection, also on Ambergris Caye, if you have Marriott points instead. The 3-bedroom Oceanfront Villa was bookable with points (about 284,000 per night), but the Reef House suites were cash only.

Maui, Hawaii: Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas

Ocean-view lanai at Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas in Kihei

Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas is in Kihei on Maui’s sunny south shore, where the beaches are calm. It also rains less here than on most of the island. Kihei is one of the best places to watch humpback whales from shore in winter (roughly December through April).

In addition, snorkel boats to Molokini leave from nearby. When everyone needs a break from the sand, the Road to Hana or a sunrise at Haleakala rounds out the trip.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom suites have a king bed, two doubles, and a full kitchen, so cooking a quick breakfast before a big beach day is easy.

Points: Hilton Honors. However, this one is pricey on points, around 256,000 points per night in my search.

Love Hyatt? Most rooms at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Ka’anapali cap at 4 people, so we booked two connecting rooms there. Here’s how we did Maui on points as a family of 6, plus my list of the best family resorts in Hawaii by island.

Oahu, Hawaii: Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk

Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk

Waikiki is the easiest Hawaii trip for first-timers: gentle waves for beginner surf lessons, the Diamond Head hike, Pearl Harbor, and snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk is a short walk from the sand. Also, the free cooked-to-order breakfast saves a lot of money in Hawaii.

The room for 6: The 1-bedroom suite has 2 queen beds in the bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 137,000 points per night for a city-view suite in my search.

Backup: Hilton Grand Vacations Club Grand Waikikian at the Hilton Hawaiian Village has 2-bedroom suites with kitchens that sleep 6, but they ran about 302,000 points per night.

Kauai, Hawaii: Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection

Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu in Kauai

Poipu, on Kauai’s south shore, is the sunniest side of the island, with calm swimming at Poipu Beach and sea turtles and monk seals hauled up on the sand. Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection has big villas with full kitchens. It’s also an easy home base for a day trip to Waimea Canyon or a stop at Spouting Horn. Read about our family trip to Kauai on points.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom villa has a king bed, a queen bed, and a sofa bed.

Points: Marriott Bonvoy. About 206,000 points per night in January, which is peak season, so check shoulder dates too.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort

Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort

Myrtle Beach is an easy, drivable beach trip for a lot of East Coast families. Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort sits right on the ocean inside Kingston Resorts. In fact, there are water parks for both older and younger kids, so you may never leave the resort. When you do, there’s the boardwalk, mini golf on every corner, and Brookgreen Gardens for a quieter day.

The room for 6: The 2-queen suites add a sofa bed in a separate living area, and breakfast is included.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 85,000 points per night for an ocean-view suite in June.

San Diego, California: Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Hotel Circle/SeaWorld Area

Homewood Suites by Hilton in San Diego

San Diego might be the most kid-friendly city in the country: the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, the La Jolla tide pools, and LEGOLAND about 40 minutes north. Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Hotel Circle/SeaWorld Area is about 10 minutes from SeaWorld and Old Town, with a free hot breakfast and a full kitchen in every suite.

The room for 6: The 1-bedroom suite has 2 queen beds plus a sofa bed in the living room.

Points: Hilton Honors. One of the best values on this list at about 70,000 points per night in June.

Epic Landscapes & National Parks

Interlaken, Switzerland: Hotel Royal St. Georges Interlaken, MGallery

Historic facade of Hotel Royal St. Georges Interlaken, MGallery, in Switzerland

Hotel Royal St. Georges Interlaken, MGallery puts you right between two lakes in a town that exists as the gateway to some of the best alpine scenery in the world. Wake up to mountain views and spend the day on a cable car up into the Alps. Then let the kids try an alpine slide or a scenic train through picture-perfect valleys.

The room for 6: Book the Family Apartment specifically. It sleeps 6 and has a kitchen, but it is in a separate building a short walk from the main hotel with no elevator, and guests say it is compact, so pack light.

Points: Accor Live Limitless (ALL). MGallery is an Accor brand, and ALL points work like cash (2,000 points takes €40 off), so you can put them toward any room, including the apartment. Either way, book early for summer.

Yellowstone National Park: Starlite Yellowstone, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Room with a queen bed and bunk beds at Starlite Yellowstone, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Yellowstone is the kind of place that reminds you why national parks exist in the first place: geysers, bison, hot springs, landscapes, and more. However, finding hotels bookable on points is HARD in these tiny park entrance towns. Starlite Yellowstone, Tapestry Collection by Hilton puts you in downtown West Yellowstone, about a mile from the park’s West Entrance and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center.

The room for 6: Several room types fit 6 or more, including a king with a queen/full bunk bed, a queen with bunk beds and a sofa bed, and 2 queens with a bunk bed and a twin sofa bed.

Points: Hilton Honors. Prices swing a lot by season: about 131,000 points per night in October and closer to 300,000 in July.

Backup: Home2 Suites by Hilton Livingston Yellowstone is about an hour from the North Entrance. Its studio suites with 2 queens and a sofa bed sleep 6, at about 50,000 points per night in July.

Banff, Canada: Fairmont Banff Springs

Fairmont Banff Springs hotel surrounded by snowy mountains in Banff National Park

Fairmont Banff Springs looks like a castle because it basically is one, sitting in the middle of Banff National Park with the Rockies on every side. The building itself is part of the vacation, all turrets and stone hallways. Then you step outside into some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on the continent. Think glacier-fed lakes, gondola rides, and hiking trails for every skill level.

The room for 6: Book the Gatehouse Family Suite specifically: a king bed in the main bedroom plus 4 twin bunk beds and two bathrooms. The Gatehouse Family Room sounds similar but only sleeps 4.

Points: Accor Live Limitless (ALL). Fairmont is an Accor brand, so you can use ALL points like cash toward the suite.

Great Smoky Mountains: Embassy Suites by Hilton Gatlinburg Resort

Embassy Suites by Hilton near the Great Smoky Mountains

Great Smoky Mountains is the most visited national park in the country, and there’s no entrance fee (you just need a parking tag). Gatlinburg sits right at the park’s Tennessee entrance, so waterfall hikes, Cades Cove, and Clingmans Dome are easy day trips. Also, Dollywood is a short drive away in Pigeon Forge. Additionally, Embassy Suites by Hilton Gatlinburg Resort includes breakfast every morning.

The room for 6: The 2-room suite has 2 queen beds plus a sofa bed in the living room.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 65,000 points per night in June.

Niagara Falls, Canada: Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel & Suites

Room with a view of Niagara Falls at Hilton Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls will blow your kids away. From the Canadian side you can ride the boat right into the mist, walk the tunnels at Journey Behind the Falls, and spend an evening on Clifton Hill. Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel & Suites is in the Fallsview area, and some suites look out at the falls. Finally, bring passports for everyone if you’re driving in from the U.S.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom whirlpool suites sleep 6.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 129,000 to 143,000 points per night in June, depending on the view.

Culture, Cities, & Theme Parks

Tokyo, Japan: Hilton Tokyo Bay

Hilton Tokyo Bay hotel exterior near Tokyo Disney Resort

Hilton Tokyo Bay is an official Tokyo Disney Resort hotel. Also, the Disney Resort Line monorail stop (Bayside Station) is right across the street. As a result, you’re at Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea in minutes and back at the pool by afternoon.

The Happy Magic rooms are fairytale-themed and the kids will love them. Beyond the parks, Tokyo’s easy train system puts the whole city within reach if you want a day exploring Shibuya or trying your way through a few ramen shops.

If you want to read how we took our family of six to Japan on points, click here.

The room for 6: Two options here: the Family Happy Magic Room (ocean view) sleeps 6, or splurge on the Happy Magic Suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 93,000 points per night for the Family Happy Magic Room and 268,000 for the suite in my search.

London, England: Hilton London Metropole

Modern hotel lounge with seating in London

Hilton London Metropole is near Paddington, where the Heathrow Express drops you after a long flight, and a short walk from Hyde Park for burning off some kid energy. From there, the Tube gets you to Big Ben, the Tower of London, and the West End.

The room for 6: Book the Two Bedroom Family Suite. If it is sold out, the Four Queen Bed Family Connecting Room sleeps up to 8 and books as one reservation.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 308,000 points per night for the suite and 195,000 for the connecting room in my search, so London is a splurge either way.

Orlando, Florida: Hilton Grand Vacations Club SeaWorld Orlando

Resort hotel tower surrounded by trees in Orlando

Orlando might have more ways to fill a family vacation than anywhere else on this list. Hilton Grand Vacations Club SeaWorld Orlando puts you right by SeaWorld and Discovery Cove, with condo-style suites and full kitchens so you can cook a few meals between park days.

The room for 6: The 2-bedroom suite has a king bed, 2 queen beds, and a sofa bed.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 154,000 points per night in my search.

Doing Disney and Universal too? Here’s how we did Disney World and Universal on points: 7 parks in 7 days, how to save on Universal Orlando, and how we booked the Swan & Dolphin and other Disney hotels on points.

Disneyland, California: Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort–Convention Center

Homewood Suites by Hilton near Disneyland

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort–Convention Center is an official Disneyland Good Neighbor hotel less than a mile from Disneyland and California Adventure. Every suite has a full kitchen, and the free hot breakfast means you can get to rope drop without stopping for food. Besides the parks, Huntington Beach is about 15 minutes away for a beach day. More ideas: how to save on all things Disney.

The room for 6: The 1-bedroom suite has 2 queen beds plus a sofa bed. There is also a king suite with a bunk bed and a trundle that sleeps 7.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 109,000 points per night in my search.

Washington, D.C.: Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown

Atrium lobby at Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown

Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown is an easy walk to Georgetown’s cobblestone streets, the C&O Canal towpath, and the waterfront. It’s also a quick ride to the National Mall, where most of the Smithsonian museums are free.

The room for 6: The 2-room suite has 2 queen beds plus a sofa bed, and you get the free hot breakfast every Embassy Suites is known for.

Points: Hilton Honors. About 68,000 points per night, one of the best deals on this list.

Backup: Homewood Suites by Hilton DC Capitol-Navy Yard, closer to the Nationals ballpark and the riverfront. Its suites with 2 queens and a sofa bed sleep 6, at about 116,000 to 120,000 points per night.

Sydney, Australia: The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney

Balcony view over Sydney Harbour from The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney

The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney sits right at The Rocks, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge basically in your backyard and the Opera House an easy walk along the water. You can hit the big moments, like a harbor ferry, Taronga Zoo, or the bridge climb for the brave ones. Afterward, head back to the apartment and cook dinner in your own kitchen.

The room for 6: The Deluxe 2-Bedroom Harbour View Apartment sleeps 6, and so do the 2- and 3-bedroom penthouses. All have a full kitchen and laundry.

Points: Accor Live Limitless (ALL). The Sebel is an Accor brand, so you can use ALL points like cash toward the apartment.

Bonus: Hotels That Fit 6 With a Cash Upgrade

Every hotel below has a room that fits 6. However, my points searches for 6 guests only turned up cash rates or premium suites you’d have to upgrade into. If one of these is your dream trip, plan on paying cash, or book on points and pay to upgrade. If you go that route, my free Hotel Upgrade Template gives you a copy-and-paste email to ask for a better room.

Cancun, Mexico: Hyatt Ziva Cancun

Oceanfront pools at a beachfront resort in Cancun

Hyatt Ziva Cancun is a family-friendly all-inclusive at the tip of the Hotel Zone with beach on multiple sides. But standard rooms here max out at 4 people (5 in the Master rooms). The only rooms that sleep 6 are the Club Two Bedroom Oceanfront Suite and the Presidential Suite, which are premium suites, so most families of 6 book two connecting rooms on points instead.

Keep in mind all-inclusive points rates cover 2 guests, and each extra guest adds points or a fee. Here are the best all-inclusive Hyatt resorts and our $14K Cancun family vacation on points.

Also worth checking: Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort has 2-bedroom Enclave suites that sleep up to 8. Hilton only shows all-inclusive points prices when you’re signed in, so log in to see if points are open on your dates. Also, if you were eyeing the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, it went all-inclusive on October 1, 2026, and becomes adults-only on January 10, 2027.

Costa Rica: Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo

Infinity pool overlooking the bay at Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo

The Andaz Costa Rica 2-bedroom villa fits 6 and feels like something out of a magazine, all open-air design and jungle views down to the water. But the property has excluded this villa from World of Hyatt points, so it’s cash only.

Algarve, Portugal: Domes Lake Algarve, Autograph Collection

Hotel building framed by trees in the Algarve, Portugal

The Two-Bedroom Residence at Domes Lake Algarve sleeps 6 with two bathrooms and a separate dining area, but it only showed cash rates in my Marriott searches. Tivoli Alvor All Inclusive Resort also has a room for 6 right on the water, but it runs on Minor Hotels’ own DISCOVERY loyalty program rather than one of the big transferable ones.

Southern Spain: Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort

Andalusian-style buildings with bougainvillea on Spain's Costa del Sol

The 2-bedroom apartments at Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort and its sister resort Marriott’s Playa Andaluza in Estepona sleep 6, but they came back cash only on every date I tried.

Mallorca, Spain: Marriott’s Club Son Antem

Living room of a two-bedroom villa on Mallorca

The 2-bedroom townhouses at Marriott’s Club Son Antem, about 20 minutes from Palma, sleep 6 but were cash only in my searches. If you have IHG points, Iberostar Waves Cala Barca (Iberostar is now part of IHG One Rewards) has a room for 6, so check IHG for reward night availability.

Paris, France: Marriott’s Village d’Ile-de-France

Aerial view of Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France near Disneyland Paris

The 2-bedroom townhouses at Marriott’s Village d’Ile-de-France are right next to Disneyland Paris and sleep 6, but they’re cash only. In my searches, no Marriott in Paris had a points room for 6. In other words, Europe is where a family of 6 is most likely to need cash or two rooms.

Zante, Greece: Domes Aulūs Zante, Autograph Collection

Beach cabanas and palm trees at a resort on Zakynthos, Greece

The 2-bedroom suites at Domes Aulūs Zante sleep 6, right on the beach with Shipwreck Beach boat trips and sea turtle nesting nearby, but they were cash only when I searched.

A Few Tips Before You Book

Search for your real party size. Enter 2 adults and 4 kids, not just 2 adults, so the booking site only shows rooms that actually fit. Then double check the bed setup. When in doubt, call the hotel and ask for the exact bed configuration.

Points prices move with demand. Most of these chains use dynamic pricing, so the same suite can cost very different points on different dates. For example, Starlite was less than half the points in October as in July. I set alerts with Max My Point to get notified when a points rate drops or a room opens up.

Suites and villas cost more points. Hilton lets you book almost any room with points, but suites and villas cost a lot more than a standard room. Free night certificates from hotel credit cards usually only cover standard rooms (or have a points cap), so they rarely work for the rooms on this list. Here’s how to get the most out of free night certificates.

All-inclusive rates usually cover 2 guests. Extra guests at all-inclusives often add points or a nightly fee, so price it out for all 6.

Combine points if you’re short. Hilton lets you pool points with family and friends for free, and you can move flexible credit card points into most of these programs. Here’s how to transfer credit card points to hotel partners, and keep an eye out for transfer bonuses that stretch them further.

FAQ: Booking Hotels for a Family of 6 on Points

Can you book one hotel room for 6 people with points?

Yes, but you have to target the right room types: 2-bedroom villas and apartments, Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites with 2 queens plus a sofa bed, and family suites with bunk beds. Every hotel in the main list above has one you can book with points.

Which hotel program is best for a family of 6?

Hilton is the easiest, because you can book almost any room type with points, and brands like Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites fit 6 in a standard suite. Marriott, on the other hand, is great for 2-bedroom villas when points are open. Accor (Fairmont, MGallery, and The Sebel) lets you use points like cash on any room. Start with my Hilton guide, Marriott guide, or Hyatt guide.

Do we need two hotel rooms for a family of 6?

Not at the hotels in this list. However, at other hotels, two connecting rooms on points can sometimes cost less than one suite, so price both. Book the rooms, then call the hotel to link the reservations and request connecting rooms.

Why do points prices vary so much between these hotels?

Suites and villas are priced as premium rooms, and most chains now use dynamic pricing based on demand. That’s why a Homewood Suites in San Diego can be 70,000 points a night while a villa in Maui runs over 250,000.
