I had a realization the other day that we could stretch our points farther at the same kinds of hotels we were already booking as a family. We don’t necessarily have to book a fancy resort, and we still have a great time.

Every year, I look forward to the Marriott free night certificates that come with some of my cards. With a 50k certificate, the options feel even bigger than the 35k certificates, especially since you can now add up to 15,000 points to stretch it into a 65k night. That little top-off opens the door to some incredible family stays.

I was curious one day and asked ChatGPT to round up the 100 most popular Marriott hotels on the internet. The list it gave me is pretty impressive. As a mom who leans on Marriott a lot for family travel, whether it’s soccer tournaments, Disney trips, or just finding a SpringHill Suites that fits all six of us, I can see why so many of these properties keep coming up in conversations.

We’ve all been there, you’ve had a long flight and everyone is tired. Instead of getting the keys and leaving the airport, you hit the dreaded line at the rental counter. It’s moving slower than the DMV, yet the drop in your patience level is accelerating. Then you remember that I taught you how to skip the rental car line with your credit card perks, and the the beginning of your trip becomes a breeze instead of a burden.

February 1, 2026 was a rough day for families who rely on airport lounges.
That’s when the Capital One Venture X and the Capital One Venture X Business changed their lounge access rules. What used to be one of the easiest ways for families to access airport lounges suddenly became much more complicated.
Can’t remember where you saw it? Whether it was a credit card tip, a travel itinerary, or that dress from Instagram—if I’ve shared it, you can probably find it here.
